Was in a retail-therapy kind of mood today, as it was Sunday, picked up CRC 2005 on an impulse for about four pounds to add to my growing list of has-been games, like TOCA3,  Xpand Rally, FS2004 etc....

Wink Grin

Another non-licenced racing game like my Xpand rally, but I like what I see so far. The sound seems very good, graphics quite nice too, good camera options in replay for screenshots, though no orbiting cam unfortunately.

Just starting out - driving the 'Corus' on some kind of mud circuit in 'Hungary', not that it's really possible to tell where it is - in this sense Xpand rally is better, the scenery of Poland and Arizona looks really characteristic. This could be anywhere.

Thanks!!

From what I read about CRC2005 it's really hard...and I get the feeling that you spend most of the time trying to stay ahead of the pack so they don't get a chance to deliberately ram you off the road. I played on beginner level and just catching up with the other cars was almost impossible, let alone overtaking them and getting ahead. Just driving well and overtaking at opportune moments is not enough as the other guys will try to take you out if they can.

I don't think I like this concept - in TOCA3 beginner level is REALLY easy and the difficulty can be moved upwards very nicely according to your skill, and in Xpand there are no difficulty levels but it's doable if you practice enough, or make enough money from easier races to kit out your car with the best parts....but in CRC even starting out is hard. However, I will persevere   Cheesy

I can't stop racing right now  Shocked   Enjoying the Honda Civic Type R series in TOCA3 at the mo, next set of pics from there.

Cheers
