is your power supply ample to run the card? as in does it meet the recomended ampage on the 12 volt rail?

try re-seating the card aswell, sometimes fixes random things

This is the board http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=4CoreDual-SATA2&s=n (click on pciexpress symbol it clearly says x16.) got it because it supported dual core and agp cards.
sold agp card now and got an 3870pci-e card.
Been on loads of forums and they all say the same thing that the board only supports pci-e x4 http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3...

Ran riva turner and it says my card is x16 but only x4 activated, nothing in bios at all to change it.
Is this trade discription??

Quote:
1 x PCI Express Graphics slot

thats what i got on the website you gave, clicking on the PCE-Express symbol just told me what PCI-Express is, nowhere on the page does it say it actualy supports x16 it just said that its up to 6 times quicker or whatever.

and under slots it does nto state at what speed

Quote:
- 4 x PCI slots
- 1 x PCI Express Graphics slot
- 1 x AGP 8X slot

all i can say is you should have done a little more research when buying.
