It's not Microsoft, it's your internet, dip.
Try FS2004. You can't fix that problem either. I have it with FSX. I can only use FSX multiplayer when on nonpeak hours...

Its not made by M$ and its not your internet, Its gamespy. They run the servers for FSX since the Zone stopped running Flight servers.
Gamespy is just another company trying to make money and doing so by not caring if their product works or not.

But even using VATSIM is a complicated process, atleast that's what turned me off.

this is all due to gamespy who have always hosted ballsed up servers
unfortunatly, unless someone ingenious like the FSINN team release a cool fantastic 3rd part MP program we are stuck with it... also gamespy have a horrible habit of no updates

OK OK now this is disturbing me.
I am a VATSIM controller and I'll tell you that no one in my control sector has the intention to turn anyone on....or off.

VATSIM is a whole nother ballgame here. Sure its Multiplayer but its a real world type of deal. Not just anyone can hop on at anytime and BS around and have some fun.
I'm a registered controller (inactive at ZAB center) and I went through training before I could really do much on the server. I'm still stuck as a ground controller because I just didn't have the time to dedicate to getting my S1 or S3, don't even remember. lol
VATSIM is more of a commitment in my opinion then a multiplayer server. Although great its not for everyone and you really need to know what your getting into.

...definitely not for me then!...

It wouldn't suit my regular bumbling around the World in my GA Piston Props, in Multiplayer!...

Sounds much too complicated, and dedicated, to me...

The Sim V Server is fine, with a group of "sensible" Fliers!....

On January 26th, if I'm successful, I can get Approach for VVTS.

You don´t need Gamespy or Vatsim for FSX Multiplayer Sessions.
With "FSHost Client" you can join any FSHost Session together with
FS2002/2004 Pilots.
It´s described, here.
