It's a quiet night and with 2008 fast approaching I thought I'd do a little review of my 2007, not my best year, but it wasn't bad anyway.

RAF Leeming - 14th February 2007 - RDAF F16 deployment
I was lucky enough to know rough sortie times for these great Danes and since it fell into a free afternoon I chanced it. They took ages to get moving, but eventually they made it up.

Carlisle Airport - 23rd February 2007 - Apache deployment
My first operational sighting of these beasts. Could only stay for the morning but that was than enough as we were lucky enough to see some spectacular departures back home to AAC Wattisham.
...

...

RAF Leuchars- 26th February 2007 - Typhoon deployment
The visit of four Typhoons to Leuchars gave me a good excuse to pop up to Leuchars and watch some F3s. A rather lucky bonus towards the end of the day was a KC135 overshoot. The Typhoon were pretty boring for shots as ever, but it was still worthwhile to see F3s.

...

RAF Coningsby- 30th April 2007 - RAF Jaguar final ops
I was glad to be present at CBY on such a historic day, despite the winds best efforts! A fitting tribute to this old classic and a great display of RAF precision.

Part 2 will follow later. Wink

They're all amazing photos, but I like shot #3.  It seems the gunner was looking right at you.  I'm somewhat surprised the 30 mm chain gun wasn't pointed at you as well.
