I read Kevin's post on how Hollywood doesn't produce anything good anymore.
I'd say the same goes for TV-shows. 24 and Lost were good, but the my attention drops on those two. To much of the same thing...
I loved Jericho, a series about the aftermath of a Nuclear attack on America. It was an original story, but it's not sure weather the second season will be aired.
There are far to many criminal investigation series out there ( CSI, NCIS, Bones,...), it was good in the beginning, but now there's such an overkill.
But the one series that blowed me away is Battlestar Galactica. I lent the season 1 box from my boss, not expecting to much. Now I'm devouring season 2 and it keeps thrilling me. The tagline is hardly original, but the way they bring the different problems, stories and development of the caracters is the best I've seen in a long time. Not your average "crew gets in trouble but is saved by the end of the episode" stories.
I adore it. Anyone else?
Cheers,
Omag

Is this the same Battlestar Galactica I watched over 20 years ago?
Not bad but I preferred Star Trek.

Best Sci-Fi on TV, by a mile. Shame the next season will be the last but it's better it ends whilst it is still good than drag on for too many years and loose the plot.

I still like CSI. 24 and Lost are really boreing now. I say there should be more medical dramas as they have the side of science and more ethical reasoning involved for example House.
Whatever is on i'll watch it though.

I thought season 2 was better than 3, but it's still awesome. We've just had the two hour TV movie, Razor, here in the UK. It tells the Pegasus back story and Lee Adama's first mission in command.

I can't wait to see that one. They do know how to keep the series fresh, in my opinion.
The annoying thing is that, by now, I'm used to watching it on a dvd-box. If I had to wait a week to see the next episode...

Gotta go with you on this one. Battlestar Galactica is not just good TV, it's GREAT writing combined with great acting and includes some of the greatest moments I have EVER seen on TV. I don't say that lightly; I mean some of the the best I have seen, period. There was a first season episode where Starbuck had to deal with inadvertently causing the death of her fiance' that left both me and the wifey totally in awe, and she doesn't even like the show.
I have been a 24 fan since season 2, but it basically become the 'Let's see how bad we can screw Jack over show' and just more of the same old thing, Lost is still good, but is seriously close to jumping the shark, if not already....

That's it Kevin. It's Sci-fi, but nothing like I've ever seen before. It grasped me from the very first episode on. I liked a lot of shows before, like the Startrek generations, Voyager, Stargate, ... But they all follow the same principle... at the beginning of the episode, ther's a problem, they all almost die in the middle, but in the end they are all saved. And it's just one episode after another. They don't explore the background of the characters as deep as Battlestar and the characters are always good or bad. Nothing in between. But here you even see the Cylons evolving...
Battlestar offers just so much more than most other series.
