What a silly boy!

The British formula one star Lewis Hamilton has had his driving licence suspended for a month after being caught speeding on a French motorway, police said today.
Hamilton was driving a Mercedes when he was clocked at 122mph (196kmh), more than 40mph over the limit, near the northern town of Laon on Sunday. Police stopped him, detained the car and fined him €600 (£429).
"He was very polite and cooperative," a police spokesman told Reuters. He said the car had since been collected on behalf of Hamilton.
The 22-year-old was leading this year's world championship until the final race of the season, when he was pipped to the title by Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen. He won four races during the season and is among the favourites for next year's title.
Hamilton's second-place finish made him the most successful rookie in the history of the sport, and he finished third in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. He has announced he is moving from his home town of Stevenage in Hertfordshire to Switzerland.
A spokesman for his McLaren formula one team said they were aware Hamilton had been stopped "for speeding in France while driving in a private capacity".
He added that the incident would not affect his professional driving career.

Lucky it was not in the UK, to race in F1, believe it or not, you have to hold a full driving license. All this means is that he cannot drive in France. There are no regulations transferring that ban to any other EU country (yet). Also he is not the first, Jenson Button was also nicked a few years back in France too, same punishment and if memory serves, MS had also fallen foul of the French police.

Jenson was doing about 130mph too IIRC...

...so at least he's been quicker than Lewis once! Grin

I was quicker than both of them today. Came home from Berlin in a hire car, an Audi A6 Quattro 3.0 tdi. 150mph without even thinking about it. Maybe I should drop Ron and Honda an email and offer my services  Grin
