I have recently been given a copy of Firepower for CFS3 by a friend who's "Lost interest" (!)

On installing, & updating to version 1.08, some things work, e.g. I have B17 Missions & Lancaster Missions to carry out, Nukes also have appaered in my choice of weapons  Cool

Alas, none of the 4 engines heavies seem to appear in my aircraft list.

All are in my Aircraft folder ??

Anybody discovered this problem before?

Had a browse & Shockwaves forums, but, nothing helpful there. Sad

Any advice appreciated - I wanna fly a Lanc!

Update.

After a good long trawl through the Firepower / Shockwave Forums, it seems my using the dreaded no-CD patch could be the issue.

Fair enough, I've un-installed (again!), re-installed a clean, updated CFS3 install (fully manually deleted the old CFS3 folder & cleaned the registry)

And, guess what?

Yup! - I still get no heavies on my Aircraft list!

Cry

Looks like my CFS3 revival is going to be very short lived.

What really annoys me is if I download a Freeware B17 4 engine plane that I've found, it works fine!  Angry

Update #2.

Now, it seems to work, what I did to fix it, I don't know. Huh

Nothing different from this attempted install to the past 15 or so over the past few hours!!!  Angry

If nothing else, a lesson in if at first , you don't succeed, try try try again!  Embarrassed Grin

Stunning add on for CFS3, only wish I'd got this years ago when it first came out.

The above was short lived, it stopped working again! - Well, CFS3 ran fine, but no heavies again!  Undecided

I finally tried right clicking the .exe file to see if it would run it in compatibility mode for windows 98,sure enough - the game ran fine with all new aircraft in!!!

Strangely enough, after that, even when i didn't run it in compatibility mode, it all worked fine.  Huh

Flying the jets and B17s + 24s on full simulation is great fun with a force feedback stick!  Cool

Glad I've sorted it out, I hope these posts save others the hours of head scratching I've done over this one!  Embarrassed Wink
