SCREENART WARS - THE FINAL FIGHT ENTRIES!

A tough theme, trying to portray important events in aviation history - whether it was the actual moment or a salute to the occasion, it was no easy task to come up with an entry.

Clipper and Ashar have proved that screenshooting can be taken very far and have produced wonderful entries!

The Entries

Clipper

"WINGS BENEATH MY FEET"

...

- A salute to the magical moment in the Kill Devil Hills in December 1903 -

VS

Ashar

"FIRST COMMERCIAL FLIGHT"

...

-  The First Commercial 747 Flight Shortly After Take-off from JFK International on January 21, 1970 -

The judging will begin shortly, and the winner of the War revealed this time next week....Who Will Be Crowned Winner?

Thank you once again to all who expressed an interest in participating and to all who did indeed take part and help me judge - it's been a brilliant experience!!

Great shots, I like Ashar's a bit more though.  Cool to know and remember going down to the Wright Brothers Memorial though.

I think you mean memorial, not sign. That was created in 1932.

However, I believe Danny did it in the spirit of the event: A salute to the magical moment in the Kill Devil Hills in December 1903.

For you history buffs:

Memorial Dedication
November 14, 1932 was selected as the dedication day; over 20,000 people were expected to attend. Yet, only about 1,000 actually came to the event, which was held on a stormy and windy day. Orville Wright was the main guest of honor at the ceremony and aviator Ruth Nichols (aviation pioneer: She was the only woman yet to hold simultaneous world records for speed, altitude, and distance for a female pilot) was given the privilege of removing the American flag that covered the word "GENIUS" and the plaque on the monument. President Herbert Hoover was unable to attend the ceremony; however, a letter from the President was read prior to the dedication.
