Nice case, but those open backplates are a dust disaster waiting to happen.

And cable management? Who cares?  Smiley  Wink

P.S. EDIT Is that Corsair dominator RAM?

Very nice, it looks a lot like mine.  I've got that exact same CPU cooler and it dropped my temps by 15°C over stock! Shocked  The 680i is nice too.  Did you replace the thermal grease on the North and South-bridge heat sinks?

Nope, should I? I haven't had any temp problems so far, and Ive upped voltages, the processor is running at 3.2ghz right now. Cant get it stable at 3.6, temps are fine but it just randomly reboots, ive tried over 20 different voltage combinations as well.

Considering I only spent $800 dollars (I already had a video card, ram, and a power supply) It's come out nicely.

I ended up getting:

q6600 (OC'ed to 3.2ghz)
XFX 680i Mobo
Antec 900 Case
Western Digital 150gb Raptor Drive (Love this thing)
And the Zalman.

All things considered I'm quite pleased.

Any intake openings in a case need to have filters on, if you're really concerned about dust. And as for the cable management ?
....It is imperitive that it gets done if you want to control the path of heat removal. You certainly don't need to create turbulence within the case if you want to move as much warm air out, as you can. The general idea is to make the inside of your case a duct with the specific task of heat removal. Mine is done in such a manner the it runs hotter with the side off, than with it on. When the duct is closed, I can move the heat to my fans which remove it out the back and top, and displace it with cooler air coming in from the front at the bottom........normal CPU temp for me is 40 degrees C (sometimes it gets to 41 or even 41.5 C).........not bad for an overclocked XP3700 running over 2.5 gHz......on the other hand, it helps me with my 6800GS which runs hot (around 57 C) at the best of times........

Fan setup is......intake at front bottom
Exhaust out normal location on the back below the pwr supply
Second exhaust at top between pwr supply and top CD-RW bay. The top fan also has a directional duct on the top of the case, to move air away from the front where the cool air comes in ......all the heat is allowed to rise from behind the case.
The reason there are two exhausts, is that as the cool air comes in and heats, it expands and tries to increase in volume inside the case. Since the only thing it can really do is add pressure, you vent off this pressure buildup by trying to remove more air than you're taking in. All three fans have the same airflow numbers which allows for this heat expanded air to be removed as the cool air comes in underneath, assisting in moving the warm air up to the higher fans.

HUGE aid in cooling is that all flat ribbon cables have been split, rounded and bound with split loom, and then routed to the extreme outsides, inside the case to avert any restrictions to airflow.........works like a charm ! Cool

Yeah, I can't get it to 3.6 yet either, but I haven't tried too hard yet.  Mine's at 3.0 right now, and I don't really have too much of a reason to try to go higher right now, so I'll stick with it.  If you want to replace the thermal compound, see HERE.  I don't know how much it helps, but I don't think it is absolutely necessary, as there are plenty of people out there who haven't done it, and aren't having any problems.  I did it mostly for something extra to do while I was building it, and it helps avoid overstressing the board, but I don't think you'll have any problems without it.  Do you know what temps you are running?

I can't quite tell, but it looks like you might not have the North-bridge cooling fan on there.  It should have come with your board, and you should definitely have it on there.  It's pretty easy to do, although you might have to take your video card out to do it, but that should be no problem.

That board uses a Heatpipe solution... all parts are connected to a big heatsink at the top of the board where the PSU outtake will take care of the heat

That was the first thing I put on the board actually lol.

Edit: Temps are
CPU: 34C Idle, 54C Load
System 28C Idle, 40C Load

Yeah, I just looked at mine, and the fan is the big spinny thing with nVidia printed on the top.  I'm dumb. Grin

The SB heatsink is connected to the NB heatsink with a heatpipe, then there is a fan on the NB heatsink to help with the cooling.  The PSU doesn't do anything to help with the cooling here.  The big green heatsink/fan is the CPU cooler, and it works great, I just got the exact same one last weekend. Wink
