The way I read that article it sounds to me like he's trying to perhaps steer the attention off of Renault as far as the FIA are concerned. Knowing Renaults threat to quit the sport if found guilty.
I think it also shows just how out of touch and quite frankly stupid he is at times. Compairing the hiring of a top surgeon with experience to that of a designer using old ideas for a new team.
Plus trying to say that mclaren getting lots of information over a time span, is worse than Renault getting it all in one go. Shocked Roll Eyes

Not so daft in the right circumstances Craig. If for example back in the day, if Minadi could have lured a top designer from one of the top teams (unlikly, but never say never, after all at the end of the 96, I bet Arrows never thought that they would have a world champion driving for them in 97) then that could have put them in the top ten all on old knowledge. Also, if we are talking Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, Williams, then last years old ideas can be more up to date and better than this years tweaks on the lower end of the field. However, I agree with you, the wrinkled old dwarf is really making himself sound very silly in the last few months.
As for Renault being found guilty, no way as they will walk. But on that, why is Renault walking such a great loss, but if McLaren said the same thing,  the reaction would have been , well off you go then?

I have no idea why.
I guess people like Flavio he's the italian playboy who knows nothing about the mechanics of F1 yet still ends up being sucessful. Personally I couldn't care less if they went, other than the fact that its one less top team to compete.

Yes, I suppose a three horse race is always better than just two.
