Where's the right gear on one of them?  Grin

All are very beautiful shots...I'd love to have some high res ones for my desktops...Is that a possibility? Wink Cool

You could argue that almost any of them is unique, the Mk XVI as it is only bubble canopied Merlin powered variant flying in the UK, the Mk V with the Vokes filter (the only one of its kind flying), tis easy to argue odd-man-out Wink

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

I was going to say JG891, as it is the only one wearing a non european theatre paint scheme...

...except it isn't, as of course the BBMF's PS915 is wearing a postwar far-eastern scheme! Grin

Now a further connection - what's the link between MV268 (J-EJ), JG891 (T-B), and TD248 (CR-S)? Wink

JE-J = James Edgar Johnson, T-B = Tom Blair, CR-S = Cliff Spink, not sure what the R in his name stands for. Smiley

Rodney I think (or as "Trigger" would say, Dave!). Your quite right. They are all people's initials (who are associated with the aircraft). Sadly of course JEJ is no longer with us, but I believe TFC painted it in his colours before his death. Smiley
