Clip (or to whom else it may concern
),
I'd like to offer a quick suggestion for the "rate this" entries...
In the upcoming weeks, more people will begin entering their shots, which will consequently clutter up the Studio V forum (as is apparent already). Why not create a weekly thread especially for "Rate It" similar to the Gallery Gates threads, with a deadline for everyone to enter their shots? After the deadline, and everyone has entered their shots, people can view and rate each of the shots, then reply to the thread with their individual ratings.
Example of a Reply:
Entry#1 (or name) - 8.5 fantastic shot, but the sky is ugly, etc..
Entry#2 (or name) - 3.5 needs work, BLNT
ETC..
ETC..
Just thought Id throw this out there. Do with the idea, what you like.

Indeed, that would streamline the process, but wouldn't that just be the Gallery Gates' malformed little brother?

I suppose it would be like a weekly Mini Gallery Gates, but it would allow fellow members to rate each entry (which I think was the purpose behind this in the first place), as opposed to the judges picking what they feel are the best 5 (or whatever), then polling.

Forgot to add, the Rate it Feature as it stands ALREADY is the " Gallery Gates' malformed little brother", just with ALOT more clutter.

It's a good suggestion, although I think we should run it as is for a few days. I think after the initial surge of entries we're seeing now, things will even out and the clutter won't be an issue. Let's see how it goes...

How about, as soon as the post is declared mathematically impossible to go into the gallery by the poster, it gets deleted...that'd clear it up a bit...

I personally dont think the clutter will ever "not" be an issue, but it's not my forum so it isnt any of my business.
Mitch has a good point too.

I don't know where this 'Rate this' came from but it's a great idea, though the clutter is a bit much....PD87's idea has merit
But the entries would have to be thumbs, lessening the impact and increasing the 'work', and maybe people will just stop bothering to rate stuff after a while, it's already a bit intimidating, though I have to post other stuff now so no time for rating... my excuse anyway. I'll try and take a peek tomorrow. It would be nice to see a few more quality shots get into the gallery. And the Gallery Gates is limping a bit these days....
