I guess the best way to put it is this...having used Itunes for awhile, I got used to the inbuilt equalizer that can be applied to any music in the Pod. Now I have a RAID-arrayed system and was advised that RAID & Itunes do not play well together (they didn't on my machine anyway). Alternately have started using winamp but the EQ works in playback within the program only. Ideally I would like to find an editor, free or payware, that one can apply a specific EQ setting to a given MP3 file, and then save it with those settings permanently. Wondering if anyone has any idea if something like this might be available.

Magix MP3 maker is pretty slick.(pretty inexpensive too) It allows you to convert most audio samples into mp3s, and vise-versa. I've used it to convert my mp3's to cda and burn them to disk. If you set the EQ. during this process, to add more base for example, the change is carried over to the burnt sample. Might be what your looking for.

It was only a suggestion. I don't know if it's what you're looking for or not.
