Ground Environment X is now live

http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=gexusacan

be aware this is not the product that will complement Flight Environment X which is called Flight Terrain X (http://www.flightterrain.com/) and most likely you will not be able to run both. FTX is being designed with integration to FEX and the dynamic environment simulator soon to come.

I will be running FSX again soon and though about getting that so are those the system requirements or suggested system? Because I think my processor will be 2.4Ghz and I have to save up for a 512mb video card for my new computer...

I am not as impressed with it as I thought I would be originally. Yes, it makes the ground textures better and it does organize autogen better, and it fixes some areas that were really bad, but, the differences are not as pronounced as they were with the FS9 version simply because he use 1m textures, the same resolution as FSX default, so although it is an upgrade to the default, and, it does make things look better, its not the massive upgrade it was to FS9

FTX will be getting down and dirty with the higher resolutions, ground cloud shadows and other things such as photoreal airports GEX wont do.

Also, it plays correctly with SP2 which changed the scale of autogen to a more realistic size (smaller than in SP1) as it should be

I expected it to be moved.. I just wanted to make sure there was a link to it from the FSX forum where the add-on needed to be announced.

Can't say I'm overly impressed either. Perhaps I've yet to discover the places it's improved the most, but I can't say I'd have noticed much of a difference if somebody had came along and secretly installed it for me!

I think I'll patiently wait for FTX Europe. And REX.

Now i'm confused.  I was all set to buy Ultimate Terrain X and I saw this post about Ground Environment X and I don't get what the difference is between the two.

What is the difference, if there is one?  Are they made by two different groups?

All I want is some add-on that improves ground textures and scenery, but there seems to be a whole lot of different ones that do that and since I'm new to FS, I don't know which one I need.

C'mon guys back on topic, for now. I too would like this question answered (if possible). Is there any conflict between UTX and this new GEX? What's the difference? Which would be a better purchase?
Undecided
