Not a bad choice the Mk XVI, especially as being in the States it ran the US made Packard Merlin 266. Welcome to civilisation Andrew
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

I loved it. I did attempt to take a few photos of the Spitfire MK IX at the Seattle Museum of Flight, but the lighting was horrible, and the photos aren't great

Wow...now are all these airworthy Andrew?
I am wondering if there are any Northrop P61s around in museums, certainly would be interesting to see one as they were a very classified aircraft at the time.

The museum only had a couple aircraft that are kept airworthy. The Ford Trimotor was one, but I can't remember any of the others.
