Title says it all really, are Flight Environment and GE Pro for FS2004 worth the money? I hear people say that Flight environment is great, but I just can't see what it will do. Any shots of it would be very appreciated.
I hear Active Sky 6, which I currently have, works well with flight environment, is this the case? Huh

Also, I already have ground environment, so would be upgrading to ground environment pro - is it worth it?

Regards,
Celtman Cool

P.S Anyone got/heard anything about/seen Zinertek Night Environment 2007? Help appreciated Smiley

OK here it is: FE and GE Pro are worth it. GE Pro has some advantages over GE in that you can have different ground textures for different kind of weather. FE does alter your sky, water and clouds with plenty of options to choose from. But:

If you already have AS6 and GE, I'd think twice of buying them. Both are great packages already.

FS 2004....

I have VOZ, and select the various VOZ areas to suit the location in the World which I am flying in.

So...is GE (Ground Environment) payware, an improvement over VOZ freeware?

(Remembering that VOZ also includes the fantastic, colourful, highly detailed Koorbygen buildings!).

F....G-BPLF... Cool...!

GE uses the Koorbygen buildings as well...Think of it as VOZ for the entire world rather than just Australia Tongue

..always confusing, Ash...!

Note: I don't use VOZ for the purpose of flying in Australia.

Because I mainly (always) fly in California, I select the VOZ "Northern Territory" (green, forest and farmland areas), which matches admirably the Californian scenery which I fly over!
(It also suits the South American scenery as well)...Wink...!

The other VOZ areas can be pre-selected to suit any desert, etc, areas I may come across outside of Australia.

So, as VOZ is free, is it worth forking out for GE instead?

Cheers, Ash... Wink...!

VOZ textures are better for displaying Australia only. GE is better for almost all other places. Smiley

Yep... FE and GE are worth it. Smiley

FOZ, I would of thought SE Australia would match California better than Queensland textures?

FS 2004:

The thing which concerns me most about GE, is the constant reference to "Photographic Scenery" from my bad experiences with my CD Versions of VFR Photographic Scenery programs, and various 3rd party photographic scenery downloads... Cry...!

This sort of scenery looks fine from a high altitude, (which all the demo screen shots show!!), but at, or near ground level, where I spend most of my time, the 2D and 3D Autogen objects are excluded, to be replaced by FLAT photographic objects (buildings, trees, etc!).

My Scenery/Autogen sliders are set to Maximum, so my World is full of 2D/3D Autogen objects

My existing VOZ textures merely modify the "colours" of the ground scenery, and have no effect on the existing 2D/3D Autogen objects....which is nice! Kiss...!

If the default "relief" Autogen scenery is replaced by flat photographs of the scenery below me then GE is of no interest to me!...Wink...!

F....G-BPLF... Wink...!

VFR Photograph Scenery: England and Wales has long been abandoned... Wink...!

Paul, GE doesn't have photographic scenery. I still have all the autogen I want, where I want it. GE only changes the textures of the land. Same like VOZ does......

Correct, although the texture's aren't photoreal, they look very good from high up and down low...Trust me Paul, it's an excellent add-on Wink
