a day late in posting this but....

On November 6th 1957, Bristol Britannia G-ANCA came down about half a mile from my current house....it crashed exactly 3 hours before my dad was born Wink

lots of memorial services in the last couple of days in the local churches....15 crew members were on board, but noone on the ground was injured

I would have been 14 in 1957 & have vague memories of that. Looking at the newsreel footage it's a wonder nobody on the ground was seriously hurt. I believe that G-ANCA was the first prototype Britannia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downend_air_crash
