My problem is that when I try to download a file from the avsim library the computer shuts down and then restarts all by himself!!
I 'm angry cause now I can't download nothing that I want (and I want many things..)..Does someone actually know what should I do???

I'm having the same problem. I'm not sure what to do because no one has replied to my other thread.

It might be better to ask this question on the Avsim forum. Do you mean the computer or your browser shuts down? I've never heard of attempting to download a file causing a reboot of the system. If it's a recent problem try to remember what you did since the last time it worked. Could be anything.

That's probably because nobody knows the answer. It's most likely your browser security settings. Try Firefox.

Look whats happening: 1)I click on a file to download it.
2)The download window shows up.
3)I click the "download it now" link.
4)The computer(not the browser) shuts down(it's as If I had disconnected it from the wall socket).
5)The computer starts by itself(I dont touch it at all).
6)After the file verification I get those windows that want me to send an error report to Microsoft.
I first thought it was a virus or a trojan problem so I scaned my PC with Kaspersky and found 3 trojans and got rid of them. And I don't really remember what I have done(it started 4 days ago). I have already tried with I.E.,Firefox and Opera but every time the same thing...

Yesterday I tried to download a plane from Aeroplane Heaven and it worked. I think that I can't download files only from Simviation and Avsim...
That's really bad

Yup, you can download just about ANYWHERE except Simv and avsim. Flightsim has a lot of good stuff you should check it out. Although my computer doesn't crash it's still annoying.

If you're downloading large amounts of data from the same source some ISP's will block those sources ..... even if you are on so called "unlimited" packages you may have your bandwidth and speed capped and an effective way of doing this is to block sites that are frequently downloaded from.

I thought of that the other day. Because I only downloaded from SimV and Avsim...I've tried a few fixes from MS but it didn't seem to help.

Seems like that would ship a "404" error, but it shouldn't shut the machine down. Have you messed with any settings in you bios? What kind of machine are you on?

I havent done anything with bios..
One friend told me to format my PC because he had exactly the same problem and only the format helped..He told me its a corrupted file issue. Guess I should start backing up my FS files..(about 20 GB

Backing up is ALWAYS a good thing to do anyway, but don't be in such a hurry to reformat.(unless you have nothing to lose) Have you changed or upgraded any hardware lately?

I always download files from SimV...I just wanted to try the system. But I can download files from SimV only when I use Firefox. Why is this happening?
