What you would like to see changed, added, removed in FS11? Personally I would like to see better water shaders and textures, x64 support and more detailed cockpits (with APU, FCU, Air and pressures systems, etc). I also hope Aces doesn't develop FS11 with future hardware in mind, I hope they develop it for the hardware that'll be available by the time of release.

Intel Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz cooled w/ Zalman 9700&&4GB G. Skill DDRII @ 800Mhz&&512Mb AMD/ATI HD2900XT&&Creative Audigy 2 ZX&&Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit&&FSX Deluxe version + Acceleration

FSX has x64 support now. Wink

Personally, I'd like to see much better clouds in FS11, especially in regards to weather systems.  FSX does a pretty good job with just cumulus clouds (fair weather theme), but it is awful at replicating flying around the large storms and complex weather systems that happen in the real world.

I'm not worried about FS11, because i'm more focused, and content with the current flight simulator. If I were to always worry, and have huge unrealistic expectations years before every simulator is released, than weeks after FS11 is released, I would start worrying, wondering, and building up more unrealistic expecations for FS12. It's a vicious cycle that I'm glad i'm not a part of, otherwise I would always he hoping for the next best thing instead of being content with what's out now.

I'm not worried about FS11 either, because I've got my hands full with FSX, and FS9 still has much to offer. I've experienced about 1% of FS9's glories in fact.

BUT if FS11 is being thought about by Aces, why shouldn't we. I agree with the thread author: it would be nice if finally they designed FS for current hardware (at time of release). The fact that I only recently could run FS9 on full, and that I can't use AI in FSX is not something that made/makes me happy - it just frustrated me!!! So does the fact that I was unable to afford the hardware to upgrade to it for a year and I've only just been able to start running it thanks to a service pack.

If they want customers to be happy, give them 'the goodies now.'.. then a couple of datadisks... if they are of high quality people will buy them too, I know I will, and then start again for the next generation. Not the generation after that. They would have more happy customers who could 'move up' immediately, and they would make more money. They could get a ton of datadiscs with new content etc for one sim generation....look at the Sims... tons of datadisks and people buy them. All that money...I don't understand their tactics...

I find it amusing when this topic is posted around the same time the latest version comes out...   Roll Eyes

When you get your FSX running smooth and all your hardware updated, then you have the right to ask this question!  Wink

I have only tried FSX once for a time of about 5 minutes...After that my HDD died and I never bothered to re-install...LOL...FSXI will be a long way away for me...First, I have to get my copy of FSX from Rome, then I have to get a new PC and then I have to fully tweak FSX till I get to the same smoothness that I have currently have in FS9...LOL...Sounds like a mouthful... FSXI eh? My expectations aren't too unrealistic - get rid of the over-saturated sky colour (come on - purple, pink and yellow? Not even in Australia), improve the water/shorelines (there is a big contrast between the shore and the water - a huge dark strip, where it should be beige, and also, the water does not break against the shore, the waves are huge) and allow more support for photo realistic airports.

Here we go again... Shocked...!!

Deja-vou... Roll Eyes...!

The exact same subject was discussed, where everyone jumped in to suggest what they would like to see in the release of FSX... Kiss....

The Ace's Team possibly took notice, and programed them in.... Smiley....

...with the result that the Hardware requirements necessary to run the Simulator where either unobtainable, or too costly, or both, for just about everyone... Cry...!!

...so that discussion was a complete and utter waste of time and space, as well...Wink...!

So....here we go...again...!!

F.... Wink...!

I vividly remember asking for the only thing that was of particular interest to me in FSX....

"Realistic Grass, that waved in the wind, and deformed under the wheels of my Piper Cub when landing and taxiing on Farm strips, etc..."... Kiss...!

Just imagine what the frame rates would have been like, together with every other request that would/may have been incorporated into the program!... Shocked...!!

It would have been totally unplayable without the resources, and cost of a Cray Supercomputer

F....Wink...!

...and I still can't afford a Cray Supercomputer... Cry...!

...but luckily, I don't have to mow the grass now!... Roll Eyes...!

That part could be possible, I've played shooters that had grass that moved in the wind and got good frames per sec. but deforming under tires I doubt it. Tongue For FS11 I want good FPS and graphic like FS9 Grin

...it's a funny old do...

But the one thing which I have always (only) wished for, as a low-and-slow Pilot, is a realistic "grass" surface to land on with my various GA aircraft..!

Its not available on FS 2004 and previous Sims, and as far as I know, on FSX either.. Cry...!

F....FS 2004...(FSX in the bottom drawer)... Cool...!

Volunteer Grass-Mowers urgently required for future versions...reasonable hourly rates... Wink...!

it's too early to think about FS11, IMHO.

...........but, I would really want to see the ability to declare emrgencies in FS11, and maybe a better set up for the in flight faliures, that would be sweet!

much more crash and emergercy realism. i know its a bit sadistic, but i love flying planes into the ground, and i would love to see something where a wing or engine randomly breaks off or fails or something- ya know, the 1 in a million type things that they left out

(i know why they took off damage, but i can only thank Nick for bringing it back in a decent way)

and more fighters in the game, and well yeh, like combat scenarios, and training to become a proper ingame pilot (so like every flight game combined)

Yes, Fozzer, that shouldn't be too hard to implement. I remember on my first trip to SoCal on a United 747-400 back in December 2004, looking out the window as we taxied to YSSY runway 16R, and watching the grass blowing in the wake of our engines. Smiley

The grass in the simulator should then appear only under 100ft so as to save frames. Armed Assault makes excellent use of said technique, and it gives frames and good grass.
