This is a good and a bad thing. I was hoping that someday the V10's would return. But on the plus side we dont need to worry about the idea of a 1.4L 4 cylinder engine in the back of the cars. The V8's sound and perform well enough so 10 more years of them is fine by me.

I'm glad they're sticking with the 2.4 V8s but I would have been interested to see just how fast and how much bhp they could have got from a 1.4 litre engine...
Somehow I don't think they'd have been quite the same as your average Ford Fiesta/Vauxhall Corsa 1.4s

A historical study of F1 shows they're very adept at squeezing horsepower from tiny places. I only hope they never decide to reintroduce turbos. Just my 2¢

that was going to be a concession to the teams if they had to goto the 1.4's. Turbos with unlimited output.
