Hello,
Looking for some help - I've been adding lots of new aircarft to my FSX deluxe and now, somehow it doesnt recognise any Boeing 737-800 including the default version.  Cant find any means of repair and dont want to have to start from beginning - any ideas?
Thanks
Lawrie

Have you adding anything to the default 737-800?

If you have added new textures to the default make sure that the [fltsim.#] sections in the 'aircraft.cfg' file are in numeric order.....

[fltsim.0]   <----first one must be 0 (zero)
.....
.........

[fltsim.1]   <----numeric order, none missing, no duplicates
.....
.........

[fltsim.2]    <------continue numeric order
.......

Thanks Dave
Pretty new to the installing and whilst had the numeric order ok (up to 15 lol) - found no spaces where there should have been gaps, at least I think so.  Anyway edited them and 737-800 is back!!! Albeit FSX tells me there are more than one object with same name but can live with that meantime.
Thanks again

Go to the [fltsim.x] sections and make sure the 'title=' entry is unique for each variation.

[fltsim.1]
title=Boeing 737-800 Paint2    <----must be unique amongst ALL aircraft in the sim
..............
ui_manufacturer="Boeing"
ui_type="737-800"
ui_variation="World Travel Airlines"    <---should be unique within this aircraft
......

Do not change any 'title=' entry for the default paint variations as this is the data looked for by the default ai traffic file. If it cannot  find that entry that aircraft will go missing from the ai......or......to add to the confusion...   Huh     Smiley

While your in there you could 'trick' the ai traffic file into using one of your real world paints by copying a default 'title=' entry to a real world paint. As an example:

Say you have  a United Airlines paint in [fltsim.8]..copy Boeing 737-800 Paint2 from the above [fltsim.1] to [fltsim.8]...

[fltsim.8]
title=Boeing 737-800 Paint2
......

...then edit the entry in [fltsim.1]

[fltsim.1]
title=MS Boeing 737-800 Paint2  <---just an example for the edit, can be anything.....

Your United Airlines will now fly as ai in place of World Travel Airlines.

Of course, if you have already customized ai traffic this isn't necessary...

Always backup any file before editing.........

I have found that when you insert a FS9 aircraft in FSX and you don´t see it, all that is necessary is to change the "Panel" and your worries are over. The aircraft appears inmediatly. Oviously you have to use a FSX compatible panel........I have ported over 100 FS9 planes doing this. As FSX panels appear for the given aircraft I change it and all is well................ Grin
