I'm not sure why this C-130 had to shut down and secure an engine, but it made for quite a stir at the flight school.  Hats off to the guys for making it down safely though.

At least they are safe, at my local airport two military helicopters blades hit each other about 10 ft off the ground and a blade when through a Cessna that had just been repainted Shocked, the crews of the helicopters where ok, thankfully Smiley

Cool  Cool
Good thing they had 3 more... I'm sure it was no big deal once they secured the balky engine.

Aye, once the engine was shut down and the prop was feathered (if it hadn't automatically) it would be little different to normal, albeit with a little change to power settings and rudder trim. All made slightly better as the asymmetric effect of losing the inboard of two is the preferred(!) failure. Smiley
