I have been trying to install the FSX SDK since I have the Deluxe Edition. However, I have run into a dead end with the installation process.

First, I open up Disc 1 of FSX and look under the SDK folder within the disc. At first, I click the one where titled "Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK". However, a pop up comes up telling me that I have to click the "Setup.exe" icon in order for the installation to work.

...

So, I did exactly that. I double click on the "Setup.exe" icon and the process runs. However, moments later, another pop up tells me this.

...

This is where the dead end lies. Any way to fix this error? I have Windows Vista 32bit Home Edition.

Shot in the dark time.  Copy it to the computer, right click on the .exe and select properties, select the compatibility tab, select 'run as administrator' and ok it.  Then try installing it......

Kat

It looks like you may be missing a update or some type of corruption with the WI has occurred.

Lets start here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910816

There are other things to try further but we have to start at the error message and work our way down

It looks like you are running Vista too so it could be a problem with admin config settings not allowing the installer to run

I managed to install the SDK. It was a simple matter of just restarting the computer. Grin

Look for:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK

IF you don't have that folder, (or its VISTA equivalent), you haven't installed the SDKs
