caveman,

First you have to have the LIST of what you are running  Wink.  That is a manually compiled listing.

Then go to the top of the forums page and click on "Profile".  On the next screen hit "Modify".  Put in your password.  Then select "Options" at the top, and then put the info in "Signature".

In your profile setup there is a place to put in all sorts of stuff like an Avatar picture, a signatuire picture, and so on .... including that kind of information ....... just by typing it in there.  Once you do that, it will appear on every posting you will make and HAVE made.

best,

..........john

Hi again John, I guess I'm doing something all wrong. I'm trying to follow your instructions and after I click on modify ,  I'm asked to enter my password.   I can't get pass that point.   I keep getting an error message as tho I don't know my own password.  Huh

I've often had trouble with my password  and I don't know what to do about it.   I don't know if it's my PC or what - - -   I just don't know what to do about this problem.   Frustrating  - -  just plain frustrating.   I wish I had someone to get this thing solved.   Anyway - - that's where I'm at - - -between a rock and a hard place.   Even my repairman can't get a handle on it.

Maybe some day.    John  - -  have a good one,   caveman

Caveman,

Are you using the computer to remember your password for your normal "surf the site" log-in....or are you typing it in every time?  If you are using the automatic method, likely you have forgotten your own password.  Think hard.... and we'll see what we can do on this end.

best,

caveman,

At the bottom of the screen after you have changed all that stuff in the various fields...... you hace to hit the "Change Profile" button at the bottom of the screen.

Did you do that?

best,

Hi John,  sorry I'm so late getting back to you,  been working on my lil' work car all day  and just found some free time to sit down and cool it.  I always look forward to this forum.   John,  I did NOT click on that .   I thought it would just run me around in circles. Embarrassed

I'll type my info in again and give it another try.   I need the practice anyway. Smiley

Sure do appreciate your help.  Here's wishing you a nice evening,  caveman

cavemen,

I think that happened beause you took too long to hit "update" after you logged into your "Priofile" page.  It is a security measure.  Try again with a SHORT profile change ...and see what happens.  Maybe "build it up" a little at a time?

best,

Hi John,  Sure hope your day went well for you.

After giving this some thought, I sorta  came up with that possible solution also.   Perhaps me being so slow ,  I could put in a few lines of my PC data at a time.  I'll give that a try - - - add a couple of lines at a time , - - - if that is permitted.

This would be a big help to me to have others see what I have and me being permitted to change this info as I upgrade.

John,  I wish to express my thanks to you for helping me.   There are many times that I just simply don't know which way to turn  when it comes to these computers.   I'm not  shy when it comes to asking for help,  just don't know whom to ask.   You have been and are just unreal and greatly appreciated.   THANK YOU SO MUCH .

Here's wishing you a good tomorrow,       caveman

Hey John,   Thought I'd give it a try with typing a few lines in.   I've found out that ten min was too long of a time and I got that "time out"  message .    So I gave it a five min try and I'm not sure if it worked or not and wont know until I post this message.

If I'm only given 5 min to put in the specks of my PC,   ahem   Smiley   I'll pack a Lil' brown bag while putting in the info  Wink

     Anyway - - - here goes.
