Haven't posted anything here for some time now, but I've been working 80 hour weeks for the past 2 months. So I've been very busy.
But this sunday it was time to test my new toy at the best circuit in the world, the Nurburgring Nordschleife. (the place where Niki Lauda lost his ears).
The new car is a Mercedes CLS350.

These pictures were taken by my girlfriend, who sat next to me. Unfortunually, she got sick in the car during the second lap.  Angry
I wasn't even pushing very hard. Good thing I took some bags with me, so she didn't mess up the car.  Cheesy

I had a great time, but couldn't compete with the Porsches and Corvettes, they were just to fast. (I wasn't even close  Embarrassed).
I did set a new personal speed record: 265km/h (164 mph).

Here are some pics of my first lap.

The car

The track

The action

...

Hope you guys like the pics.

Great pics & I love the car, they look awsome in profile. Nice to see the ring again, been a good few years since I've been there - did you take the high road or the low road around the carousel??

Cheers,

TSC.

There are plans for me to head that way next summer with some friends. We havent decided who's car will be sacrificed to the ring yet. Grin I'm half tempted for it to be my car, but I'd need to upgrade the brakes first otherwise they'd be worthless after one lap.

Great shots mate, I'd be very wary of taking such a new car there but you look like you had fun. Great shot in the second to last case, Karrosel is it? (excuse the spelling)

If it is the Karoussell (sp?) then it just goes to show how blind that corner really is, from a driver's perspective.

The whole track in general gets me. From these pictures I only now get an idea of how steep some of the hills are. You just dont get that in the computer games.

That's what I mean, I bet most of us have driven there virtually.. I always thought that corner was quite easy. My opinion has changed.. from a still photo!  Embarrassed    Tongue

Had to take the high road, this guy was overtaking me (bad quality pic, but it's a Corvette).

This was my second visit, and I still don't know the track, it's just to difficult (someone told me it takes about 50 to 100 laps to get to know every turn). I practiced a bit on the XBOX360, but the real thing is just so different ...
