I have had vista for some time but reinstalled xp several months ago, last night I decided to give it another try so I popped in the recover CD I made after rebooting xp booted up Ummm OK, I noticed Vista installed on the @#@# D drive not the C drive. Everything I had backed up over 50 gigs of stuff gone!!! Why would it do that I guess that the files were overwritten there just gone I tried several file recovery progams but nothing. I hate microsoft , windows, vista Sorry I had to vent. Angry Angry Angry

They are a great sometimes, in some areas. But they really need to improve the old before they start building new.

If I'm not mistaken, you have to specify which partition, on which drive you want to install Windows on.  At least I have been able to every time I've installed XP and Vista...Tongue
