Examples of JATO include, late model Lockheed Neptunes, late Convair B-36s, late K/B-29s, K/B-50s, and the K/C-97.

Hits the nail on the head - the C-123 Provider was another example - and you can tell due the the jet engines under the wing.

Now RATO, the LC-47, C-130T, LC-130, Mirage III, Mirage IV and B-47 are some examples.

Technically the space shuttle and the Me163 Komet too... Wink Grin

Well, not one to prove anyone wrong here or anything, but Fat Albert did the JATO!!!!!  Pics coming real soon as I resize them and pick out the ones worth posting.  They didnt do the JATO during the practice runs or during the military only preview day, but on game day he lit them up and took off like a bat out of hell!  I love it!

If your show offers a night show you may be in luck as far as JATO goes.  At the Oregon International Airshow earlier this year Fat Albert did the JATO takeoff for the night show but not the day ones.

The day is always better when you're flying upside down.&&&&www.fight2flyphoto.com&&&&Canon RebelXT&&Canon 18-55mm&&Sigma 10-20mm F/4-6.3&&Sigma 100-300mm F/4-6.3&&Sigma 50-500mm F/4-6.3

I got to see that a few years ago at the Miramar show, but this year he did it during the day time, Kaneohe Bay doesn't do a very big air show like Miramar, it's over by 1800, no night show, but still got to see it and it was still bad ass!  Like your screen name too, I got Boss's autograph this year.
