New simulator concept has been developed by a new firm Flightemotion.
Modularity and kit form is very interesting feature to start with small investment and increase later time by time.

The site needs some major work to be taken seriously. That scrolling message gave me a headache. Cool concept, and I think the sim pit market is gonna take off pretty soon.

OK... bad pun!   Smiley  And it already seems to be growing exponentially, from what I have seen.

I know things are pretty good, but I'm predicting the mainstream market is gonna take advantage of this hobby. Just look at the external displays Saitek has in the works.

My site gets a pretty good stream of traffic so far, although most of my info is general to date.

Masternerd,

I agree about the "mainstream" market.  It will blur the "what's a home cockpit" idea a bit.

Take a CH or Saitek yoke, CH or Saitek pedals, CH or Saitek throttle quad, add in a few Goflight units or the upcoming Saitek units, and a few other bells and whistles...... and you have a "mini cockpit" with alsmost no actual "building" involved; plug and play.  And while far more expensive than just a computer with a joystick....... still not THAT much money (at least compared with a "real" - "fake" pit.)  [Hum........ a real fake....... now THERE's an oxymoron.  Wink ]

It is excciting to see this happening..... and to be on the FRONT END of the trend....not the back end.

best,

.....................john

PS:  Back on topic........ motion is not something I am contemplating.  Too complicated in MANY ways....... stuff to go wrong....... structural issues on the pit itself... and so on.  Not to mention added expense on top of piles of expenses to start with.  But to those who can afford to go that route........ yee haw!  Smiley

I agree the actual craft of building elements from scratch will yield a much better pit overall, and I also think the mainstream could boost our craft even more, by introducing new cockpit builders to the hobby. Personally I think this will be good for us, as far as cockpit software and hardware is concerned. More gauge software in the market should drive down prices and give us some options and more interesting hardware..

Yeah it is nice being there, but I am on the tail end still in the R&D stage. Ill get there eventually I have most of the hardware Ill need and a general idea of what to do. PS I got a haggy on the way "KE72" Yeah Baby Cool

Yep web design is another hobby of mine, page optimization plays a big part in gaining popularity on the Internet. Looks like they made some changes on the site but still a long way to go.
