I don't know if anyone else has made this comment or not, I haven't read through the rest of the posts, but a suggestion I have is to create a standard information dialoge to be included for each downloadable item.  Take the aircraft information for example.  Yes it is nice to know where each aircraft came from in real life and the history of it, but the information I'm most curious about is what kind of animation does it have, does it have a VC, how many variations are included, etc, etc.  I feel that it's more important to put the information of what the aircraft will offer in FS over it's real life stats.  I wouldn't say to leave out the history information, but add a way of listing pertant aircraft information.  Maybe in the upload window, put a series of check boxes that uploaders can check to say if those items are included.  I don't feel there needs to be an extremely detailed description, but rather a yes or no listing of certain items.  I feel the most important items when I'm looking for an aircraft is if it has a VC, custom sound, custom panel, variations, and animations (other than just the standard kind).  I know there are probably other features out there that more users could come up with, but this is something I would like to see added to the website.  And not just the aircraft pages, scenery, utilities, everything.

Alas this is all down to the readme the designer puts in with their kite. We can't really tell people what to do when they're contributing fantastic freeware for our pleasure. Just be grateful they're out there and making add-ons Wink

Hi , Like Ozzy says this info is provided by the contributor. Contributors are few & far between & we have to accept the info they provide. I will usually add further info, such as required extra files with links.

Generally you can tell a lot by the file description & size. Usually  files with VC's or custom panels, sounds, etc, will contain that info in the description. If it doesn't mention anything, an aircraft, for example, will usually have aliased panel & sounds. Textures only files are always described as that with the required base aircraft linked.

We do our best Wink
