the navy curtis nc-4 flying boat...a detailed version....hard to understand why nobody has done a good job on this one.....then again maybe it wasn't the first to cross the atlantic? Smiley

It was indeed the first crossing of the Atlantic by air. Odd there isn't one. The first non-stop was of course Alcock and Brown in the Vickers Vimy which is a default aircraft in FS9.... never really thought about it. I've not seen a really good one but you never know there might be one in the works.

i don't quite figure it...the vimy was non stop....the nc-4 wasn't?....i've ordered plans for one, for an r/c electric............................vic

The NC-4 crossing was done in stages with several stops along the way. http://www.aviation-history.com/navy/nc4.html
Alcock & Brown were awarded the £10,000 prize for the first non-stop crossing from North America to England or Ireland in the Vickers Vimy a couple of weeks later.

I found an FS9 model of the NC-4 by Dennis Simanaitis. You might already have it. If not do a search for nc4ds.zip
