Hey guys, I'm fairly new with AFCAD, but I have made some nice mods at some of my local airports (mostly for AI parking) that I'm pleased with. I did run into a problem a couple of times where I extended the tarmac to some places where trees were. I had the assumption that if I told the program that I wanted there to be concrete / asphault there, it would made so. Bad assumption on part, I had forrest growing throughout the tarmac...lesson learned. I fixed the problem by scaling back, and in some cases, just modified the tarmac to fit between treelines which, in all cases, ended up being a better design than I had first layed out anyway. But just in case I run into that problem again, is there a way to clear-cut a section of trees, or is that getting a little too deep into FS9? Thanx, Dave

You would need to use a program like ExcBuilder ( http://www.scenery.org/design_utilities_b.htm ) to creat an exclude file. Basically these programs (I've only used this one) make .bgl files that tell the sim to ignore any ideas of putting buildings, trees, powerlines and such in what ever regin you make the exclude file for.

You're quite welcome! I'm messing around with the same stuff you are. There won't be a bare spot in my sim when I'm done! Good luck.
