being a huge lover of birds, ive got to say, that hummingbird photo is absolutely beautiful.

(it may sound silly but) how dyou get such a great close up? ive tried several times to get the likes of ravens and rooks etc. in my garden, and even they fly off before i can get a decent shot.

First I want to Thank everyone for the nice comments, Second Geckos there is no such thing as a dumb question, thats what photo forum is for, I will explain the Hummingbird shot. I used a 300mm lens at a distance of about 15 feet, I focused on the bird feeder, and had the camera sitting on top of our Grill, the camera was also set on continuous shots ( 3 frames per second). Then I stood there and waited with my finger on the shutter button, as soon as I saw the hummingbird coming, I held down the button. I must have taken 30 shots. I like that one, so I cropped it. and posted it. I have other ones if you would like to see them. Does that answer your question, or do you want me to explain, what shutter speed, aperature and ISO I used? Mark
