Unfortunately the display has to be rather further away than at a normal airshow as the flightpath from RWY27 of East Midlands airport goes directly over the track. The display has to be performed in the breaks between traffic.

G-NIFE or "Knife" is a Stampe SV4-A powered by a Renault 4PO5 engine.  The aircraft was built in 1946 and has the serial number 156.  Prior to the aircrafts British registration it was registered in France as F-BBBL.

The aircraft belongs to Tiger Airways.

An interesting fact ......... The first aircraft made by DeHaviland used half of a Renault V8 engine as there were no other suitable engines available.
