When installing FSX on a new computer, I get the two codes, 1722 and 1603. I have tried microsofts patch and I'm almost positive it runs DX 9 and it has Windows Installer 3.1 Ver.2. I've searched everywhere and Microsoft doesn't seem to listen to me. Am I better off trashing FSX and getting FS2004? Microsoft needs to recall FSX and fix all the dang bugs! I've come by so many. And even on a BRAND NEW COMPUTER it does NOT (NOTNOTNOTNOTNOT) work!  Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

FSX Demo Version came with my Joystick so I installed it on the computer, it works with beautiful graphics and performance, but, why won't it install FSX Deluxe!? It's not windows installer because it installed the demo version, I've tried the patch and that didn't work. Can someone please help me!?

It's the registration error so many have been getting. I've had to reinstall FSX three times so far. How did you run the reset program? You can't just click on the .exe file. You have to run it with a trigger command. Best method I've found is to create a shortcut and add the trigger to that.

Unzip the KB928080 program like the instructions say and then right click on that and choose "Create A Shortcut". Now Name the shortcut:
C:\MicrosoftKB928080\resetsldl.exe
-All
adding the
-All
in the "Target" line of the shorcut properties and run it from the shortcut.

I had to reinstall FSX yesterday and had the same problem with error messages after loading the entire program.  I tried all of the suggestions regarding re-setting the license file and replacing the Windows nstaller without success.  I did a system restore. I tried in safe mode.  I added a new user account.  I swicthed DVD drives.  All made no difference.  I even looked at Amazon to see what a new FSX wpould cost.

Finally, I remembered that I had installed a new adblocker several weeks ago.  I disabled it and Voila, Fsx installed normally
