Hey I'm kinda new to this, but I am have issues adding textures to the planes, I have followed the "read me", and it still does not work. I made the new folder added every thing and set it up the same way, but for some reason I can't get any of the textures to work on the 747 that I have been trying this on for like a month now.
...

If I can figure it out, then I would not ave any issues added them to other planes, so I can get my favorite paint jobs.

Also I can't get the "HJG Boeing E3-C v6" to show up at all, the folder is there with all the other planes, but it does not show up in the game at all.

1-Looks like you've got the 'texture.JAL2' folder inside the 'texture.11' folder. It must be in the 'b747_400' folder. You'll also have to make sure the [fltsim.x] section is properly added and configured in the 'aircraft.cfg' file.

2-Did you download and install any textures for the EC-3? It comes as a base pack with no textures.

I had it in its own folder, but I put it back.
...

But it still does not work, nether the KLM nor the JAL textures are showing up at all.

And i'll go back and download the textures for the E-3 and see if that works.

Hello:
Your second post looks ok now.  Your next procedure is to follow Dave's next step by opening the **aircraft.cfg** with notepad.  Upon this you open the read-me file that should have been included with the KLM+JAL textures then copy the entire fltsim and paste it to the aircraft.cfg.  Next you have to insert a new number, not the same number as the other fltsims, where the X's are located.
Below is an example of what a entire fltsim looks like:

[fltsim.0]
title=Boeing 747-400 Paint1
sim=Boeing747-400
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=1
kb_checklists=Boeing747-400_check
kb_reference=Boeing747-400_ref
atc_id=N747K
atc_airline=Boeing
atc_flight_number=1123
atc_heavy=1
ui_manufacturer="Boeing"
ui_type="747-400"
ui_variation="Boeing livery"
ui_typerole="Commercial Airliner"
ui_createdby="Microsoft Corporation"
description="More than 30 years ago, the 747 made its first trip from New York to London.  Since then, it's become the standard by which other large passenger jets are judged. Its size, range, speed and capacity were then, and are now, the best in its class."

Cool I got it to work, now that I know what you mean. Thanks alot.  Grin

So know all I have to do, is the same thing with the E-3, and go in and add the text file to the config list again?

Cool, I got that to work also.

Last question for now, how do you get a thumbnail of the aircraft, I have a few where they do not show up.
