A  Focke-Wulf FW.44 Stieglitz and looks like Old Warden in the background. Now if I am on the right track, it is a small world. A friend of mine has just rebuilt, signed off and registered the same owners Klemm that was brought to the UK from the US. Owning to it being registered in the US as experimental, the UK authorities would not allow it a UK registration, so it has had to be done here in Germany and then in time transfered back to the UK. The lucky '*Ä"§$%%%&  is going to the UK at the end of the month to see it take to the air and with a little luck, well who knows, maybe a breeze in his hair too.

Looks like Old Warden to me, what a lucky old devil you are Doug  Wink

Then again, no luck involved really, you've obviously developed some good relationships with some generous people. Good for you mate, you look like you thoroughly enjoyed yourself  Smiley

Matt & Steve are correct. It's an Fw 44 Stieglitz (Goldfinch) now based at Old Warden. This one was built in 1937 & is the only one on the British civil register. I was extremely lucky to get a flight in it. The Stieglitz first flew in August 1932 & was designed by Kurt Tank who went on to produce the Fw 190. The Fw 44 was used by Luftwaffe training units all through the Second World War, and probably every German pilot flew the Stieglitz at some time in his training or flying career.

You are indeed on the right track. A Klemm 35D. I took this photo of it on Sunday. http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/da-DSCF0043ow1.jpg
Knowing how generous the owner is your friend will get a breeze in his hair. Wink
