Hello Chums... Wink...!

Together with my LAGO FSE, Abacus' EZ-Scenery, Runway3, and AFCAD (for positioning my VOR and NDB beacons) scenery design programs, I often design my own private runway Airstrips, complete with various  objects, sometimes in the middle of nowhere!.

I place them into my Scenery Add-On Folder...as you do...and they work fine...Wink...!

How does one generate ones own ICAO airfield code, together with the name for them, so that they appear in the drop-down list under "World > Go to"...?

(They are located at particular Compass N/W locations).

At present, because they are not part of the existing ICAO code locations, I can only load them via my "Saved Flights" list.

(It has been achieved with the "SIMV" ICAO Code for locating the Simviation Airfield)....

...how was this done?.... Roll Eyes...!

As an example: One of my designed airstrip runways, objects, NDB beacon, boating lake, and camping site, is located on the Pacific Coast, at Point Reyes in California.

How do I give this airstrip its own ICAO code to appear in the Flight Sim list of ICAO codes and Airfield Names for quick access..?

I have these little Airstrips dotted all over the place!

It obviously must not conflict with any existing ICAO codes and Airfield names...!

...any advice will be rewarded with a Chocolate Cookie...(or maybe, even three!)... Smiley...!

Thank-you, Chums...Wink...!

F....G-BPLF...FS 2004... Cool...!

...

The info you fill in the Afcad airport properties, 'Airport Identification and Location' fields is used to in the Goto Airport selection fields.

For country and state/province you should use the name conventions used by default airports.

Ta, Dave....

It looks as though it can only be done via AFCAD.

'Trubble is, the majority of my Scenes don't include AFCAD for the runway. (I generally use the simple Runway3 program just to provide the Tarmac/Concrete/Dirt/Grass runway).

All the other objects are done with LAGO FSE and EZ-Scenery.

AFCAD is only used to provide my own NDB Beacon Frequencies on a few of the Airstrips*.

Looks a bit complicated now, to modify all my existing Airstrips with AFCAD....somehow... Undecided...!

Further experimentation required...Wink...!

Thanks again, Dave...!

F.... Cool...!

* They then appear in FS Navigator.

Edit:  Hang about, just remembered, the NDB Beacon locations are produced with "FSSC" (Flight Sim Scenery Creator), not AFCAD... Cool...!

In the goto airport window have you tried 'search addon scenery'? I believe that if FSSC created an AF file this is where it would show.

If you want it to show in  'search default scenery' you can create an Afcad airport with nothing but the reference point. When you select the airport you are dropped on the reference point (which you could have positioned in a parking area).  No need to create anything else.

It will show in Goto Airport, GPS and map.
