Not sure I should show anymore after the way the last thread went. Only joking

I would like to say this though. On the debate about this being a form of art, it most certainly is. BUT it is not Aviation art. The Artists who produce those wonderful images have worked long and hard to get the recognition they rightly deserve. To try and compare anything done via our methods with true aviation art is to make ourselves look bad.
Screen shot art is a new medium made possible by the computer age. It has a place of it's own as other mediums such as photography do. We should not pretend to be something we are not, we SHOULD be proud of what we can achieve and strive to make our medium recognised more widely.

I make mistakes in my pictures (many), all I ask is for a polite message saying what is wrong - this way not only will you help me to improve, but you will also help others who might be reading the thread. i make pictures for fun, after a day at work to relax. In the last exchanges comments were made about aspects of my pictures, not addressed to me, not intended to help anyone learn, but only to pull the picture apart. I don't like this method and will not respond to it.

Anyway,

Here is another picture. A wounded Spitfire pilot sees a vision of an old WW1 plane (se5a) the pilot waves 'follow me'. This is the spit pilots Gaurdian Angel.

The backdrop shows the pilot in the middle. Bright safe 'follow me' above him and the red of hell beneath, waiting for it's next soul.

I hope you like it

John

How do you know that it wasn't intended to help anyone learn. And if you have something that you want to say to me, then you can say it directly to me just as you are complaining that it wasn't said directly to you. How do we say it more directly to you than posting it in your image thread? We should send you a postcard or something?

I'm not saying a word abuout it jnc. I'll let you do all the talking. As the author, what, if anything, do you think you could have done differently to make it better? Is there anything at all you would do differently if you were to go back and work on it?

What a great idea!!! Cheesy Shocked!!

Seriously, that's one of the most original things I've ever seen posted.... and well executed too!!! Cheesy Wink

One itty-bitty minor quibble I have is that the lower nose area of the spit is a bit dark and hard to see against the background.... but, like I said, this is a tiny problem.

The Idea is stunning and so is the execution! I for one would love a bigger version to put as my desktop wallpaper Cheesy Though the bottom is quite dark I like the way it contrasts to the brightness around the guardian Se5A

Magnificent job JNC! Please post many many more!

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I am pleased you like it.

SB - yes I agree it is a little dark in that area, I was trying to keep the viewers eye focused on the cockpit / upper fuselage area. But a little more light might have been a good idea. thanks for that.

Stax, just drop it. You could have at least said something nice about the Phantom.

Jnc, I LOVE it. It is perfect in EVERY way. The graphics, the composition, the story. I must admit, the idea of having that Se5A as a guardian angel is VERY creative. Wink
