While not the newest thing, (they stopped using it) the lower ore dock at Marquette has been reborn,

(greg, i think we should make this a "big deal" upload, someday)

I'd guess that all the ore gets funneled through Escanaba these days..

I have a fond memory of that dock from the 1980s..  after a nasty, winter storm, the ice from the crashing waves just about obscured it..  I'll try to find the photo and scan it..

actually there is a "newer" dock just north of it in Presque Isle built in 1911... newer Wink

Sounds good for the upload. Id like to see that pic sounds beautiful. Many nice memorys of light houses engulfed in ice and huge ice sicles.
