Are you sure this doesn't depend to something different?
Logically, a complexer mesh is also "complexer" in taking more cpu time and memory than simple stock mesh...  Wink
I can't believe that this scen reders faster due to high-res!
But can you give me a link to this? I'm interested now Cheesy.

You bet.

http://www.blueskyscenery.com/download.html

I don't think you'll find a better FREEWARE scenery add-on anywhere. ( Gave me vertigo time first time I "flew it"!)

I know, it doesn't seem right to me either! But sure enough, when I leave out  from LAX (hi res), and start flying over the mountains (hi res TO low res) the terrain begins taking longer to focus. I thought it might just be the sim loading a new "tile", so I tried it the other way, from low res to hi. Same thing! The hi-res tiles render and come into focus faster!  Huh

(BTW, BlueSky makes both standard and high res sceneries. I don't mean the high res renders faster than stock, I mean Bluesky's high res renders faster the Bluesky's low res )

That's what I mean, I really don't know why this would happen. Any Ideas?

Dunno. (frankly, I don't know what a mip is, but I do know that my video card software has it's "mipmap detail level" set to quality.) Don't get me wrong, I'm happy this scenery renders like it does, I was just hate not knowing why! Oh well, I'll just call it "gift horse" and leave it at that! Grin
