Did you get any shots of the SAR demo from the Coast Guard? If I remember correctly, you said you were down by the Tropicana, which, unfortunately, was a few hundred yards down the beach.

I had them drop the swimmer literally right in front of me, wish I had my camera.

And the Harrier decided to hover a little north of show center, and he did linger around for a bit. That Pegasus engine is deafening, I certainly wouldn't want to be on the deck with one of those when it's taking off without protection.

They dropped in to far away from where I was so I didn't take any shots.  The last couple of years they spread them out a little farther and the one copter dropped them in right in front of us. This year they both stayed down near the show center  Angry

Maybe next year I won't be so lazy and walk down or go out onto the pier!!!! Smiley

Only one dropped a swimmer this year. The second stayed north of Ocean One for some reason.

I've found that staying just north of show center tends to be a really nice place to sit. I usually enter the beach from the entrance closest to the end of the AC Expressway, between Boardwalk Hall and the Trump. (At least I think it's the Trump.)

It was a little tougher finding a good seat this year because I came late, but I found something a few yards from the high tide line. Cool
