Heyo Guys. I don't get on often anymore. Been busy with life and all. But I was driving around last night and drove out to the local airport and saw some perties. I first saw a beautiful new looking AT-802... a local regular. Then I looked to her left and saw something I've never seen. I knew right away it was one of my favorites, but only knew her from pictures. A Grumman AgCat G-146 in beautiful flying condition. I had to stop. Walked into the FBO and asked who's planes they were, they gave me a name and said I could walk on out on the tarmac seeing that I had my camera in hand. So I did. And I thought some of you boys here might appreciate these two sitting side by side. Old and new. Here they are... Plains planes of Mid-west Kansas.
Thanks for viewing and I hope you guys appreciate these beauts. Agricultural aviation is a career I am considering so if this is nothing to you, I'm sorry. These are really special to me.

Not at all! Thanks very much for sharing these, my interest in agricultural aviation is growing! That AT-802 looks very nice! (the turbine powered airframes are my favorites)

Real life cropdusters! Cool! Perhaps you can shoot some pictures of them in action, one day...

Hey Guys, thanks for the replies. I love that AgCat, I'd love to see her fly. I'll be going to the FBO early on monday to talk to the owner... ask if the Cat is going to be a regular now but I've never seen her here before.
I've got a few pictures of the Air Tractor playing with me one day. I pulled over on the side of the road across the highway from the field he was spraying and he saw me and had a little fun putting on a small show as he turned to fly back toward the field after runs. If I catch this owner I've got to tell him that was me. But the problem is I don't have those pics on this computer and they are lost somewhere in the mass files of pictures I have of other sorts... I'll dig them up when I get the time. I'm glad there are some other sprayer enthusiasts on this site as well. I just know not a lot of people think of them the way I do. And I one day hope to have me one of these working crafts.
After some research on the AgCat, I've come to find out she's Grumman design but Schweizer made in 1985... And based here now!

WOW! Those are some great shots! I have not seen the G-146 before. I don't sim-fly biplanes very often, but always seeing one really pulls at some heart-strings. Something like that G-146 is living history . . . to think that Airbuses and Boeing's and that old Grumman all share the same sky is pretty darn cool.
Sigh. Now I am going to have to go find a bi-plane to download!
Thanks for sharing those wonderful shots and your informative comments!

A great look at some under-appreciated birds... now go get some dusting pics, and don't forget a handkerchief!
