Hi All,

First post so be gentle!  Wink

I tried the freeware H21C heli yesterday, and must say I was well impressed! Fantastic VC, amazing sound. Didn't realise freeware could be so good (it was my first fw download - i'm quite new to this).

However, I only got enough lift to slightly lift off (ie 100-150ft/min max on the VSI). I did the complete startup routine twice (both from C&D freshly loaded flight), but same problem. I then swapped to the Bell 206 just to check nothing was wrong with my Thrustmaster HOTAS, but that worked fine.

Could it be something with throttle twistgrip vs collective lever? Any help highly appreciated!

(...and yes I did remember to unlock the collective before T.O...)

Haven't tried that helo myself but first thing to check is the throttle setting. Most helos need full throttle. Also make sure you don't have a "Low Rotor RPM" warning light showing. Also since the FS helos use the throttle for a collective you need to open the collective subpanel and click or drag to set the throttle on the screen to 100%.

i had same trouble.to get lift off in some helo's,you have to hit f4 to actually get full throttle.if this turns out to be the case,it's also f1 to go back to idle.don't know why,but it's not the case for all aircraft.cheers.

That's even more important with this add on. I just tried it out and it doesn't have a throttle on the collective like many FS helos. You have to use the keyboard shortcuts to adjust the throttle.

I had the same problem. Try unloading some of the weight in the heli. Also to get going you need to fly forwards while still low to gain some lift then you can get going. Its a slow helicopter.

Thanks guys,

Thanks for the comments. Part of the problem turned out to be the high altitude of the airport.

I also realised you need to properly wait until both rotor and engine speed are in the green area!  Smiley
