For those unfamiliar with Edinburgh during the summer, every year there is a festival and along with that there is the fringe, which is basically a huge arts gathering with loads of shows etc. It is always packed and it is impossible to walk down the royal mile without getting flyers for a few hundred shows
The royal mile
Pleasance courtyard...all of those signs are pointing to theatres owned by the same company

Having worked the Fringe for several years you quickly learn how to avoid getting flyers shoved under your nose every 10ft.
1. Walk with a purpose.
2. Never make eye contact with anyone who has bits of paper in their hands.
3. Always attempt to turn your back to anyone with bits of paper in their hands.... (part of the avoiding eye contact but with hundreds of the boogers about it isn't easy)
4. If you're working on a show ..... make sure you have a handful of flyers for your show and try to hand them to those trying to hand theirs to you.
5. Try to avoid Edinburgh during the silly season.
Once you get used to it, it becomes a game ...... .

I've been for a few years now, and the atmosphere is amazing....the flyers are just part of that
