To celebrate
VJ Day
(15th August) I will be holding another of my popular 'Warbirds' themed airshows; while the aircraft you want to fly does not have to have been part of the Pacific conflict itself, it must have flown in
WW2
.
The airshow will be held on
Saturday the 1st of September at 5:00pm BST
. Use the
Timezone Converter
to convert to your timezone.
As usual, it will be on the Official SimV server; see
here
for server info.
This is for both FS2004 and FSX users. FSX users must have
FSHostClient
installed and provide an FS9 compatible aircraft.
Please post the aircraft you intend to fly here (you can have multiple displays). I don't need links yet but it would be useful! A location will be revealed at a later date.
Hope to see you there!

Yes. It's GMT through the winter months, and BST during the summer, when DST comes into play.

Niccce another airshow.
Im presently working on the Video from last weekend just need to add some music. I used as much of the live video as possible and put some filler in for continuity. Post soon. Greg
Edit-Oh I realised something after the show for better video why not have the Performers do Flight video during their display. Not sure about the frames but may be a good alternative to me having to pan zoom my As---- off. LOL Greg.
(AN ODE TO GMAX) OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH GMAX! How I sometimes want to hug and kiss it. And other times want to smash, berate, and delete it. Gmax how I love and loathe thee. The crashes the errors the reinstalls. Gmax you are the whomb of my aircraft design. Oh Gmax my designing creating temptress. It must be love for you have taken my heartdrive. By Greg Ebnit

Just like a normal airshow! Show up on the server at the right time, set to the spectator aircraft to watch, when its your turn to display, fly your display!
PS. If you want to fly "Eclat" like in your sig, tough, shes mine!

I said I'd do the last couple of shows but work got in the way
Still, I enjoy the Warbird shows so I'll do my best to make this one. Pacific Fleet Seafire LIIIc (AH version-everyone has it!
) and Spitfire XII (same one I've used at the last three shows I've done-find it at Avsim).

Ok, no problem... i'll put your display a bit later on so i have a chance to land then takeoff again!
How about a practice tomorow after the tour?? Me and Canuck will be practicing a couple of mustang form passes afterwards i think.

I'll (Vapour 01) also be flying a Grumman F8F Bearcat. I won't be flying it, but for easy download and better FPS I'll load up the old Alpha one first. The Alpha one will not show in FSX, so there is a seperate link to the full model I'm in below.

I wasn't sure where to put the Bearcat, am I right in thinking it wasn't in sevice until after the war? Btw, I plan to use this order in the real thing.
EDIT: Oh yeah, no more Mustangs!

You are correct, it did first fly during World War II but was just slightly too late to see combat service. If this is a problem then you can remove it, I was just trying to think of something original (as opposed to replicating a more common type).

We seem to be missing an F6F, a P-38 and a P-47. All played a key part in the Pacific war, especially the P-38 and the Hellcat!

I could do a P-38 display, I suppose. I think it was the first warbirds show I displayed one at. (I'll go find a link)

It's OK Mic, if you'd rather fly then you're quite welcome to. I was just going to fly as a gap filler, as it were.

Ok, so shall I put you down down mic?
If anyone wants to fly a P-47 or a Hellcat (on top of your exsisting display/s) that would be very welcome.

Well I'll be using FSX (so I can see effects, and get a smoother show), and it seems that particular model messes up my display settings a bit when I select it, so I'll probably just stick to the Meteor.

There seems to be a distinct lack of heavier types represented, so in an attempt to right that a little you can also add a B24 Liberator to my 262 and F8F.
http://www.fsfield.com/viewfile/1063.html
(I'll actually be in the WoP one).

You might want to try actually looking at the the programme to see what other people are doing rather than just thinking what you want to do. You'll see the BBMF is there, so that DC3 is already there so we really don't need a replicated display from that Dak...

It would be better if you flew the P-39 and something else, considering we already have a P-40 and a DC-3. The show is long enough already and it'll get a tad boring if we see the same types over and over again (which is why i banned any more Mustang displays!); 27 displays!
Thats the most I've ever seen at a virtual airshow!
Just a message to everyone, please practice your displays in advance, don't just show up without a plan; beleive me, your display will be much better for you and the crowd if you know what you're doing.
Cheers all, will get some 'general info' up soon... (over 1000 views, we need to get over 2000 to beat the first warbirds show!
)
EDIT: Just realised, I'm going away this Friday so I'll get the general info post up next week.

Havn't got a clue. As for the fly in, I was thinking about that earlier, we could fly in from one of the nearby airports on the other side of the mountains... not sure though, the list is pretty packed so it might be better just to get straight into the show.

I changed my mind (of course!) on aircraft, instead of the A-26 I'll do an Ilyushin IL-4, it's a cfs2 model,

But that'll play havoc with the programme, we can't just wait for people to arrive from far flung shores. My compromise would be to take you off the programme, but still have a download link for your display(s) then you'll be able to fly whenever you make it, and if you miss the end of the show, tough!

Links to my display aircraft:
AH Seafire

Spitfire XII

Because of work and lack of time in general I have had little or no time to work out a display so I'm just going to do a quick low-level flyby and maybe a few rolls in each aircraft. Besides, if everyone turns up, the display will be long enough without me boring you all.

Don't think I'm good enough to do a display, but if it's okay, I might fly in with the paper plane or eagle (the bird, not F-15) just to watch.
Also, do we all have to download everyone's planes to be able to see them? That's an aweful lot of downloading! Lucky I have a high speed connection.

The Blades Team will be appearing hopefully, just finilising the team, if not the holes team, a few members will still take part, we will be flying at the moment just the plain extra 300, are new aircraft are still in the making and will not be ready in time.

An excellent reminder to all those who are considering watching, or participating in the show....

As the occasional observer at the various Shows, all I ever see are either the Paper Aeroplane, (which I have in my Hangar), or variations of the DEFAULT Aircraft!

This is a World War 2 warbirds show, I don't think the Extra 300 fits that critera somehow.

I don't think we can have the show this weekend personally, there would be too little time to download all the aircraft. I can;t make it next week but I just get the feeling that if we rush it for this weekend it won't be much good.

Even if we have it on Sunday? I could make it then. Programme will be up very shortly, might move the show to sunday.
