Alright... Zone.com seem to have gotten rid of FS2004, and now i am using FSHost

whenever i load up FSHost, i get this error:

070813 12:25:25  Master Server registration aborted. The Master Server attempted to verify your server by requesting a web page from it, but was not able to connect to your IP address (MY.IP.ADRESS) on port 777. If you have a router or firewall, please change it to allow port 777 to be forwarded to your machine. For help, see the FAQ page under the Help menu. Also, please verify your IP address on the Options / Master Server window. FSHostSpy will not be able to show your server.

it started as port 80, but then i changed it to port 777 hearing that some ISPs dont like people using port 80. i run AVG antivirus and Norton 360. Norton's program control has been set to allow FSHost to connect. on my router i added a virtual server for the port 777 (UDP and TCP)

still no dice

any thoughts on what i can do? single player is so boring till i can get Airliner Pilot next week

machineman,

Are you on a dynamic IP connection?  If so, your IP sometimes changes with the ISP when you connect.  I don;t run the Host part... neve actually host stuff...... so I am just guessing at a possibility.

best,

its dynamic, but FSHost is set to find my IP each time i go onto it, and it might automate it im not sure

the IP is okay though, it matches up with that from an online test

annnnnnd its connecting again (though lets assume the problem is still there as the same is likely to happen later)
