I had noticed a few posts about new births and impending births in the general discussion, so . . . being a proud new daddy myself, I couldn't help but post a few pictures of my little princess.
Her name is Kellyn Samantha, and she was born June 5th of this year. The pictures here are when she is about a month old and from when I went home from Japan to be with my family for a couple of weeks. Kellyn herself was in Japan . . . sort of. 9 months prior to her arrival, my partner came to visit me in Japan. What a coincidence, ne?
Anyway, without further adieu, here's Kellyn:
Quality time with daddy.
Looking around.
Sleeping in the airport.

"Geez!" is a new response to her name that I have not heard before. Were you beaten up at school as a young lad by a Kellyn or a Samantha or some such?
And, thanks for the congrats! I am inordinately proud of my daughter, especially because she is the
cutest baby in the whole world
(proof is in the pictures
). But, the sleepless nights belong to mommy since I had to return to Japan. This current contract year will probably be the longest year of my life. Thank goodness for webcams.

Congratulations, and don't worry... she'll still be very small and very cute when you see her again.
Might even recognize you.
PS- I think Kellyn is a fine name... it means "powerful" in Gaelic, but it's also a pretty good "girly" name.

We don't have those names here, so that's a "no".
I mean, "Samantha" is a nice name, but "Kellyn"...come on...there's brazillions of better names out there - even if you'd just drop the "n".

Can't comment on that, all those little buggers look the same to me.

Lovely kiddie Xyn, I don't know how you cope not seeing her every day. My missus is going away with my little one for 5 days this week, I don't know how I'll manage.. Yes I do...

Thanks, Willit and Rotty, for the comments. As for recognizing me, I hope so. Mommy and me try to arrange as much webcam time as possible. It is nice to have a job that pays the bills. It would be better if that job was on the same continent as my family.
It does get lonely, but since I know I am going home next year, I have something to look forward to.
Oh, and, Björn, as you can see below, Kellyn and I aren't losing any sleep over the fact that you are as blunt as the broad side of an A380.
Björn who? No sleep lost here . . .

She's a doll! Congratulations! That thing people say about how tough it is when they first born is a bunch of crap, BTW... It gets hard when they hit 5 and can run away and say 'No' to you!
And don't worry about Bjorn. What do you expect from someone from a country that came up with the word 'Schadenfreude'
