Actually the way that the smaller bees defend is also quite amazing.

What they try to do is kill the Scout. No Feromones loose is no danger.

The small bees can stand a higher temperature than the Hornet.. The attack the Hornet en masse and by vibreating their bodies the create enough heat to kill them..

Really neat!
