Found these at the auto parts store.  They are for folks who want to "jazz up" their cars.

In this particular case there are three LEDs on each strip... but they have different sizes (3, 6, 9, and 12).  Two, three LED strips in a package cost me about 10$ (online prices are much higher).

...

They have an adhesive strip on the back, are surface mount LEDs, are prewired with current limiting resistor, operate at 12 VDC, and are very bright.  Great for illuminating stuff like the glareshield.  Might be a good backlight someplace.  (As shown above they are being powered at only 9 V with a battery.)

I will use the two I have on my glareshield where the EL string I am already using there is not as bright as I would like in some places.

They have a website.......

Here are the LED strips about half way down the page:

Enjoy.

best,

hmm might sound daft but you can also get thease as Radio Contraled car parts and powered from a 9volt battery.

Simple Double sided tape attachment and look quite good just as long as what ever you stick them too isent tranaparent and you use them as down/up lighters (or for a back light for a light up pannal)   just dont expect them to look good if your looking strate at them.
