Hello....

the 777 is now exporting without much hassle other than this....  Tongue

thing: my keyframed animations don´t get exported.... i´ve tried fiddleing with the pandasoft .x exporter options but to no avail... Sad

i´m using 3ds max 8, inside which i have set a Thrust_Reverser0 part with a keyframe at 0 (closed) and another at 100 (open), just like the SDK tells to but when it gets to fs.... naught!

my stock animations work fine... there´s a moving aileron and rudder.. it´s the keyframes that aren´t making it through Huh

how should i set the panda animation options so that they work?

.... Undecided

thanks in advance

This is probably no help at all.. I know they're similar programs..and I can't imagine you'd miss this (if it's applicable)... while exporting GMAX for FSX, you have to tell it (check a box) to export the animations.  I suppose it's a little faster when you're just checking some modeling and don't need animations..

Note that since he's using the pandasoft exporter and his "stock"  animations work, that implies he's running the file through makemdl.exe.

Unfortunately, I do not have 3DSMAx, so I can't help there.

I'd suggest searching through this and FFDS forums for "pandasoft"  since I beleive it has been addressed before.

it´s over now! i fixed it....

i had posted about this in the 777 thread but i figure i´d best leave an anwer here for future reference...

it was just a matter of adding an animation entry into that big box in the animations tab in Panda... making sure that such entry matches the range of frames you´re working with (1-200 for FS)... then set the options to Move, Scale & Rotate; and Key Frames in the animation tab and Open; Linear Position and Include animation options in the X file settings tab....

you can know if it worked even before testing it in FS (saves lotsa time) by checking the Output tab in MakeMDL... look for your animated parts in the list that will be there after exporting, you will find an Anim="1" tag next to it if it worked Wink

also, to avoid the FOUND SCALE ANIMATION error, make sure that NONE of your animated parts has SCALE keys (those keyframes in the timeline with multiple colors have scale keys inside, set filters so you see just the scale frames and DELETE THEM), those are NOT supported by MakeMDL Wink

hope this can be of any help to someone Smiley
